Meet Charlotte Li: Data, media and film enthusiast
What is your role at JUST Media?
I am a Senior Analyst. I work on several of our B2C accounts, which have unique measurement approaches and strategies. I help put together measurement strategies, implementation plans, build visualization dashboards for both internal and external teams, analyze campaign data to craft insights/stories and some of the execution and operation on the ad serving and tracking side.
What do you enjoy the most about working with data?
Data is so versatile and can be used in different ways. It is always important to take into consideration of the context and different scenarios.
What have you learned and how have you grown at JUST Media?
Digital marketing is constantly-shifting. There are so many different players in the ecosystem. Working at JUST Media gives me the opportunity to learn and test many new technologies.
What does it take to be successful at JUST Media?
Always think from others’ perspective. It leads to more efficient communication, better result and greater work environment.
What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?
Catching up with award-winning shows and movies, exploring local restaurants and going on short trips with friends.
What inspires you at JUST Media?
Our people are passionate, creative and hard-working. I benefit not only from the day-to-day work but also from the casual conversations that happen during lunch time or after work. What is more precious is that we are a really collaborative team that always has an opinion. Every time I have a media question, I always post it in the agency Slack channel, as the answers I get never disappoint.
What has been your favorite agency event?
Cooking competition with the analyst team. It is both collaborative and competitive. Everyone’s personality shined through the physical work.
What does “Growth With Purpose” mean to you?
“Growth with Purpose” to me means that sometimes we will need to take a step back in order to grow. I find this to be true in every aspect of work from media optimization to team building. When working with media data, we can be too focused on the win and the loss of a small piece of the puzzle and lose the bigger picture. In team building, I often find personal growth in a professional setting at its greatest when in accordance with organizational growth.
What trends or innovations are happening in your field?
From a technology standpoint, I think it’s AI for marketers. From an industry culture perspective, I think testing culture is something that, even though a lot of marketers have been practicing, really start being preached loudly as a tried-and-true concept.
Is there a project or other achievement you’ve earned that you’re most proud of?
I have been volunteering for Financial Communication Society since May 2017 and really enjoyed the work.
Finally, what advice would you give to someone who is just getting their career starting in digital marketing?
It is a complex ecosystem with various players that are dedicated to very specific functional areas. It is always beneficial to take a step away from the day-to-day work and look at the greater environment.
